Privacy Policy.
How Restaurants.name handles information when you browse the directory or submit a restaurant.
Information we receive
When you submit a restaurant, we receive its name, cuisine, description, price range, address, city, country, optional map coordinates, phone, website and up to six photos. We also receive the contact name and email you provide. Contact details are for reviewing and discussing your submission; they do not appear on the public listing.
When you visit, our own analytics records a browser identifier, page path and time of activity to calculate visitors and page views. Google Analytics may collect pseudonymous usage, browser, device and approximate location information. Hosting and security providers may process technical request data such as IP addresses and browser details. If you email us, we receive the message and your email address.
How we use it
We use submission details to review, publish and maintain restaurant listings, contact the person who submitted them, display approved listings, operate the site, measure traffic and protect the service. Approved restaurant details, including uploaded photos and map location, are public. The submitter's contact name and email are not displayed on the listing.
The site loads Google Analytics automatically and uses a first-party visitor cookie for its own statistics. See the Cookie Policy for identifiers and retention on your device.
Services and sharing
Site data and uploaded images are stored using Cloudflare infrastructure. Google Analytics receives usage data when its tag runs. The map uses OpenStreetMap tiles and Photon address lookup; typing an address can send that search to Photon. A Google Maps link sends you to Google only if you open it. External websites linked from listings have their own practices. We do not publish private submitter contact details as part of a restaurant listing.
Retention and your choices
We retain submissions, images and correspondence while needed to review or operate the directory and handle requests. Analytics events and visitor identifiers are retained for site statistics until removed during maintenance or in response to an applicable request. Hosting providers may retain separate technical logs under their own policies. You can request access, correction or deletion of information you supplied, subject to applicable requirements.
For questions or requests, email info@restaurants.name. You can manage cookies in your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Disabling cookies may affect visitor measurement or sign-in features.

We may update this page as the site changes. The date below identifies this version.
